WOW! What an amazing four days! Valentine's Day was SO DREAMY! I received flowers at work from Bryan. He sent me red and white tulips. They are beautiful! Then we went out to dinner for Italian at a semi-swanky place in Lincolnshire, IL. Then we were at his house Friday night and he proposed. I said exactly how I felt and said, YES! I'm getting married! We haven't picked a date yet. I knew our relationship was something really special several months ago because our relationship was so easy. I didn't have to try to impress him at all. We get along so great and have a lot in common. We've had our bumps, but that makes the relationship even better because we've gotten through those bumps. :)

I've already picked out my bridesmaid's dresses and a few dresses for myself. Meredith, Brandi and Susan are my bridesmaids, which was an easy decision. :) I'd seen the dresses online a month or so ago from a recommendation on Daily Candy. I loved the dress so much that I knew exactly where to find what I wanted it.

Happy 30th birthday Brandi! :)

An interesting weekend. It wasn't a usual weekend at all. It could have been a day longer, as usual! :)
Friday night, I worked on the "Rosier" sweater that I've been working on for a while. I watched the usual Friday evening NBC lineup - Mr. Sterling, Dateline and Law & Order: SVU. I went to bed early (for me) and slept a full 8 hours. It was great and I felt so refreshed when I woke up. My plan was to get my apartment picked up and organized and it didn't happen. I did get the piles of laundry out of my living room. They are now waiting to be folded. :) At least, they are clean! I thought my new lamps might prompt me to get my living room whipped into shape, but I just didn't feel like doing a lot on Saturday. I just wanted to knit and do laundry. I got a lot of knitting done - I finished the second sleeve of the "Rosier" sweater. I also watched an episode of "Christina Cooks" and several episodes of "Trading Spaces," "While You Were Out," "A Dating Story," and "A Makeover Story." Thank goodness for TLC on Saturdays. :) Laundry seemed to keep my very busy since I felt like I had about 45 minutes to wait for each load.

I went out with Brandi and Toby for the evening (see 8 Feb 2003 post).

Sunday, I got up about 9:30am and watched the political talk shows - "ABC News: This Week" and "Meet the Press." I sewed the "Rosier" sweater together while watching these shows. I updated my sweater page and created a page for the "Rebecca" sweater that I finished in mid-January. Then I went to the Knitting Workshop for about 45 minutes and picked up stitches on the "Rosier" sweater. Then went out to Bryan's for dinner. We made vegetarian chili for dinner. His dad, his brother, Jeff, and his nephew, Michael also came over for dinner. I got to see Bryan's new apartment. It's a cute place and there is no potential to hit your head on the slanted ceilings. We watched "The Atomic Cafe" last night, it's a documentary that's all propoganda about the atomic bomb and the mid-1940s to the early 1950s. It was really good.

I've finally posted my list of 110 Things About Me. :)

Today is another day at work. I'm literally waiting for a guy to get back from vacation to finish a project that I'm working on.

I just got home from a night out with Brandi and Toby. Brandi turns 30 on Monday, so we went out tonight. We went to Garcia's, a Mexican restaurant, and then to the movie. We saw About Schmidt. It was good.

I went to IKEA yesterday after work. I finally got a reimbursement check from my insurance company, so I went and bought some new lamps for the living room.

Two weeks ago I bought a coffee table and an end table and the old lamp just didn't look right on the new end table. I think in the next several weeks, my living room will finally come together. I still need to buy two more end tables, but they aren't in stock at IKEA so I have to go back and get them. I'm really starting to like my living room. It doesn't feel like a big open room with some furniture in it. The coffee table really pulls everything together. George likes it because it's something new to sit on. Chloe loves it because it's a place to hide when she and George are playing hide and seek around the apartment.

I didn't get as much done today as I wanted to, but I got all of my laundry done! I've had several piles of laundry sitting for a long time. How sad is that? Well, it's all done and I'm so relieved! Now I just have to fold all of it. (yuck) :)

Currently listening to:
Emiliana Torrini - Love in the Time of Science
It's a borrow from Bryan. He's so sweet!

I've borrowed so many cd's from him and I get stuck on a few.

Bryan and I have seen quite a few films lately, all of which I highly recommend!
The Hours I LOVED IT! Don't miss this wonderful film! It's beautiful, heart-breaking and amazing! I cried from the first scene to the very last. Did I mention that I loved it? Nicole Kidman was great. Julianne Moore's character made my heart ache for her. And Meryl Streep was great. Take a full box of tissues for this one. Did I mention that I loved it?

Max We didn't plan on seeing this when we did. It was our back-up film because the other films we wanted to see were sold out.
A very powerful and good film. John Cusack was good, as usual. Noah Taylor had me completely believing that he was a young Adolf Hitler. This one hits you from the beginning and takes you along a very dark part of history.

The Pianist If Max was twilight, then The Pianist is midnight. It's even darker than Max. It should be a required see for every one. This film hit me so hard that I couldn't cry. It was so powerful that it makes Nazi-occupied Warsaw very real. I can't imagine living through that time and surviving. have a great admiration for anyone who survived. It's an amazing story!

Before the holidays we saw Adaptation and Far From Heaven. We were going to see a movie the first weekend of January and it was sold out, along with three of our back-ups, so we saw Two Weeks Notice. Bryan described it as "cute" which is the perfect way to describe it. It's not going to win any Academy Awards, but it's a light-hearted movie that I liked.
